How to not look like a dork in your video link

Oh, you know exactly what I'm talking about, and I bet you would like to know – how to not look like a dork in your video link. Because somehow no matter how poised you think you are when you click the record button your face still ends up in a hot mess.

The key is so simple you take a still image and make it appear like its a video link!

This is my secret to not looking like a dork

Take a picture of yourself before or after your video in the same setting.

Do you have Canva?

If you do not have a Canva account I suggest you start one. This is a simple to use design tool. I gave up on Photoshop years ago. For what I wanted to do I didn't need the complexity. I've been singing the praises of Canva since the day we meet.

Here are the steps:

Open up the YouTube Thumb Nail Canvas. Upload the Photo that you'd like to use Drop it onto the background and move around and size to your liking Next, in the elements menu pick the outline of a circle. Add it and center it in the middle of the photo Go back to the elements and find a triangle. Rotate the triangle to look like it a play icon. Move it to the middle of the circle and make sure it is centered. Download and you have your image. How simple was that? If you prefer… Here is the video tutorial:

Would you like a daily calendar printable?

Hey! Thought I would share this daily calendar printable that I created! Page one is the calendar with the time breakout for the day that you'll want to schedule. Hello, accomplishment! It also has a little spot to write your gratitude, goals and daily affirmation to keep it front and center!

Planning

Page two is blank with grid dots for whatever your little heart desires! Here are a few ideas for page two.

Remind Me Please!

Those important birthdays or appointments that you must remember.

Project?

What key projects are you going to focus on in today? Take some time to plan out reasonable goals that are achievable in one day. Maybe you need space to brainstorm an idea.

Must Do

What task must you do no matter? Plan when you're going to complete those tasks. Get them scheduled and completed. If you're like me a long task list is overwhelming. Keep it simple! The longer I run a business the more I understand that keeping things simple is the best. Things pop up during the day that will take your time. It's best to keep those must-do tasks ones that are revenue generating.

Gratitude

What are you thankful for today? Somedays I'm thankful for coffee and fake eyelashes. Just sayin' I appreciate all that brings me joy.

Affirmation

Do you write down a daily affirmation? Louise Hay and her affirmations help me to align to the good in my life and to remember that things are fine and I'm right where I need to be.

Goals

What is your goal for the day? Is a business goal, a personal goal? Write it down to remind yourself what you're working towards.

Amazing Photo Design in 10 Minutes

Are you spending valuable time on photo design? I'll walk you through amazing photo design in 10 minutes for your blog and social media.

Have you heard of the tool called Canva? I am not kidding when I say it is possible to create amazing photo design in 10 minutes. I started out with Canva as a desktop application and this past year Canva added an app for iPhone. What I create on my iPhone will also be available when I log into the desktop application. Which is perfect, because it keeps things simple.

New to Canva?

If you are new to Canva head over to www.canva.com and create an account. Another great thing, is they have a free and paid version! The free version has great features that will give you an idea of how to use the software.

With your shiny new account, it is time to start creating. Select a size or type of project that you would like to create.  If you are needing something outside of the dimensions they have predetermined, you can select your specific size with the custom dimensions. A great example of where the custom dimensions come in very handy when a website theme have a specific size for the header or the slider.

Overview of Menu

Once you have selected your template size it will open up a new tab with your project! Yay, now the fun part.

Layout: They have a number of layouts to choose from that are either free or can be purchased for a small fee.

Elements: This has different photos, grids, frames, shapes, lines and illustrations to add.

Text: Adding different text, they also have designed text boxes that you are able to customize.

Background: If you are not using a photo for the background, you could choose one of the patterned backgrounds.

Last menu bar on the left size is upload. This allows you to upload a picture from your computer.

Amazing Photo Design in 10 MinutesHere is a picture I created in less than 10 minutes. I have heard that Canva can pull you into a time warp and hours go by very quickly. Make sure to set a timer.  😉
