I love the content creation process. It’s funny, when I began my online business, my least favorite thing to do in my business was to write content for my blog. Now, seven years later, it’s the process I look forward to in my business. The behind the scene content operations. It brings me all the joy. This is good because content marketing is a powerful tool for attracting and retaining clients, and it can also be a great way to generate leads for your small online business.

One content strategy is to create valuable, informative content.

Now, I know what you are thinking, Michele; this is not revolutionary. I’ve heard it before. You see, informative content that addresses your ideal client needs and pain points is essential, so it bares repeating.

Here’s why it’s important, if a business owner does not love the content creation process, it can be one of the first things to go when they are feeling overwhelmed. Similarly, they may throw up content that maybe isn’t their best work. Hey, know I will not throw any stones here, because content creation can be exhausting.

Being that not everyone will take the time needed to create valuable content.

One key content strategy is creating informative content, this could be in the form of blog posts, whitepapers, ebooks, podcasts, or even videos. By providing valuable information to your audience, you can establish yourself as a thought leader in your industry and gain the trust of potential leads.

​Two is to optimize your content for search engines.

Generally, optimizing content for search engines is not a crowd favorite. Be that as it may, by including relevant keywords and phrases in your content, you can increase the chances of your content ranking highly in search results, which can drive more traffic to your website and increase the visibility of your business to potential leads.

Three is to use social media for lead generation.

Haha, I think this is one that you either love or loathe. Regardless of your feeling, one of the main content strategies for lead generation is to use social media to promote your content and engage with your audience.

You can reach a wider audience and build relationships with potential leads by sharing your content on social media platforms and interacting with your followers. Especially the part about interacting with your followers.

Four is to utilize email marketing.

Even if you think email marketing is dead, I disagree. Using email marketing to nurture leads and drive conversions is a great way to let your subscribers know they are a VIP in your eyes.

By creating targeted email campaigns and providing valuable content to leads in your email list, you can keep them engaged and move them closer to working with you.

Five is to experiment with content to generate leads.

What works for some may not work for you. Instead of continuing to be something that you are not, experiment with different types of content to see what works best for your audience and what you enjoy creating. This could include creating infographics, hosting webinars, or even creating interactive content like quizzes or surveys.
By trying out different types of content, you can better understand what resonates with your audience and adjust your strategy accordingly.
