Are you looking for ways to drive organic traffic to your online business? Content creation is an important part of any successful digital marketing strategy. Where should you start when creating content that will generate the most interest and engagement? Let's chat about where to create content to drive organic traffic to your website.

We'll cover podcasts, social media posts, blogging, and email marketing – all great avenues for driving ideal leads to your website! Wherever you decide to create content, remember that consistency is key; keep up with regular posting habits for long-term success.

Podcasts:

I think I’ve been in love with podcasts since the very beginning. I would drive around the Midwest as a sales rep, visiting all my customers and soaking in every bit of wisdom. Podcasts provided endless topics to explore. What do you want to learn about business, health, wellness, organization, and time management?

This makes podcasts an effective way to reach a wide audience and drive organic traffic to your website. By attracting the right people, you can pique their interest and help them solve their problems.

The best podcasts have a mix of stories, provide advice, the best next step, and of course, things to think about. When creating podcast content, it's important to focus on topics relevant to your ideal client and your offerings.

Doing this will ensure that the podcast is informative and engaging.

Ensure you end each episode with a clear call to action, allowing listeners to learn more about you. In my mind, Amy Porterfield is the queen of this with her Marketing Made Easy podcast. Amy always gives a call to action in her podcasts.

How would you put this into practice?

Here’s an example, If you're a life coach specializing in helping people achieve their goals. Consider creating episodes that focus on goal-setting strategies and motivational tips.

Ensure each episode has a simple, actionable takeaway that listeners can use immediately to get results from what they've learned.

At the end of each episode, direct them to the show notes. Provide links on where they can connect with you via your website or free offer.

Be sure to outline your podcast before recording to avoid leaving out any key points you want to cover. And yes, Friend, this is a tip based on my past mistakes. Sometimes you get so excited to share that it becomes more of a train wreck than helpful.

Podcasts are an effective way to drive organic traffic to your website and build your audience.

Social Media

Social media can become a trap if you’re easily distracted. Well, maybe that’s just me with my shiny object syndrome. Business owners who want to connect with ideal clients can benefit greatly from social media. With social media platforms like TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest, entrepreneurs can connect with ideal clients instantly.

When creating content for social media, it’s important to focus on topics relevant to your ideal client. What type of questions are people asking in the comments? Make sure the content you create answers those questions in a clear, concise, and informative manner.

Hey, don't be shy about throwing in some call-to-actions in your post. Ask your followers some questions so they can chime in with their thoughts in the comments.

Suggest they share the post with a business bestie who could use the info. You could even drop a CTA in there to let your followers know where to learn more about your business. And if you can direct them to your website, that's even better, am I right?

Social media is a great platform to share your content and engage with your ideal clients!

Blogging

I’m guessing this one is a shocker to you. Blogging is a great way to reach your ideal clients and drive organic traffic. If that's your goal, it allows you to share stories, provide insight, or entertain.

Blogging can be a great way to showcase your expertise and become a thought leader in coaching. By sharing helpful information that connects with your ideal client, you can establish yourself as a go-to resource. It is an opportunity to start sharing your knowledge with the world.

By doing so, you build trust and credibility, leading to a greater future conversion rate. Blog posts are also great for SEO when optimized for relevant keywords. I think this answers where to create content to drive organic traffic!

Trust me, blogging doesn't have to be complicated; you only need a passion to help people solve problems.

Don't forget besides relevant keywords, you’ll need to optimize your blog posts for SEO purposes. Both headings and body text should contain keyword phrases in order to help search engines find and categorize your post. You can also make sure your meta descriptions and titles include relevant keywords. This will help your post get the visibility and drive the organic traffic it deserves!

Finally, remember that every post should have a call-to-action at the end, prompting readers to take further action.

This is a great spot to talk about my favorite call-to-action for my planning workbook. It is 50 pages of prompts to help you plan and prep for your online business success. It is the exact steps I walk my clients through at the start of each quarter. You can use it to get out of the chaos zone.

Email Marketing

A client recently asked me if email marketing was dead. No, it is not. How much time do you spend in your inbox every day?

Email marketing is a powerful tool for your business to stay connected with your clients and build relationships with your subscribers.

Have you ever considered all the amazing things you can do with email marketing? You can send newsletters, share exclusive offers, and even introduce your clients to awesome brands you love and use. The possibilities are endless!

Create engaging and informative content when creating emails for your target audience. I'd like to dive into a few tips about writing your emails.

Make Your Subject Line Engaging

Ensure the subject line is engaging to get your email noticed in your ideal client's inbox. The subject line should be concise yet catchy enough that readers can quickly understand the message.

Have you ever tried to use an action word such as “Discover” or “Unlock” to make your subject line stand out? How about personalizing your subject line by including the subscriber's name?

Did you know that personalizing significantly increases open rates? I’m on the fence regarding emoji. Do you use them in your subject line? I will say they do catch my eye!

Writing Compelling Content

Once you have drafted an interesting subject line, it's time to write compelling content for your email campaign.

What do you find compelling in your inbox? Do your eyes glass over with an email that is all copy? Ensure you're speaking from the heart and providing helpful information to your reader. Or sometimes it's just fun to entertain.

Don't forget to add images if you'll include a lot of copy in your email message.

Use Canva to create informative graphics with the key points. These grab attention and keep your reader scrolling down. It also draws the reader's eyes towards certain sections of your message more easily than plain text would do alone. If you're new around here, you may not know my love for pretty emails.

Adding a Call-To-Action

Email marketing campaigns should always include a call-to-action (CTA). Friends, this is a great way to urge readers to visit your business's website. Or if you’d like to grow your social media followers, ask them to go follow you. A CTA should be short yet effective, so readers know exactly how to take further action after reading through your message.
How can I increase the organic search traffic to my site?
1. Optimize your content for search engines by including relevant keywords and phrases in titles, headings, meta descriptions, and body text.
2. Create high-quality content that is valuable to readers and solves their problems or questions.
3. Use internal links within your website to help visitors navigate from one page to another related topic easily.
5. Take advantage of social media platforms by sharing engaging content and encouraging followers to share it, further increasing visibility online.

It's Time To Wrap This Up!

Regarding where to create content to drive organic traffic, podcasts, social media, blogging, and email marketing are all great options. Each platform offers unique advantages that can help you reach your ideal client. When used together, they create a content marketing system to build a successful online business or life coaching practice. Using the right strategy for each platform can maximize your visibility and client engagement while driving organic traffic to your website.

We are going to expand upon episode 12 topic of repurposing free content. What exactly is content repurposing, and how to create a system for reusing your content?

What is Content Repurposing?

It is using content that you’ve already created and in a new way.

It’s a great way for online businesse owners  to maximize their content marketing efforts without starting from scratch every time.

Content repurposing is taking existing core content, such as blogs, videos, and podcasts, and using it on a different platform.

For starters, it allows you to get more mileage from your original work by reaching new audiences who may not have seen the original content.

While it may sound complex and time-consuming, it is not. It is either turning your blog post into a podcast or YouTube video. or the opposite, a podcast or youtube into a blog post.

In addition, that content can also be transformed into social media copy to get even more use and reach more people.

By leveraging existing material, you can produce new content that resonates with your audience without starting from scratch. Repurposing existing material can be a great way to generate new, appealing content for your audience while conserving time and effort. Here are some strategies for repurposing old content:

Updating and Refreshing Existing Content:

This strategy involves taking an existing piece of core content and updating it with new information or insights. As you evolve and grow as an online business owner so do your offers.

For example, if you wrote a blog post about SEO best practices two years ago but now new trends are emerging in the industry – you could refresh this post by adding those changes to it.

Creating New Formats from Old Content

Instead of simply refreshing an existing piece of content, why not turn it into something entirely different?

This could involve turning a blog post a podcast or YouTube video. Which is my personal favorite.  By doing this you expand your reach to a different audience who may prefer consuming their information differently than others do

Google does like it when you refresh the content on your site. Plus, it allows you to take old content that may not be relevant to your current business model and refresh it so that it’s not confusing to your audience. Over my seven years in business I’ve gone from offering general va, to websites services to online business management to now specifically focused on organic content creation. I have a lot of old content that I can go back and rewrite, republish, and use for a podcast.

In your project management software of choice, we will create a repurposing system that can be used repeatedly.

BTW, If you struggle to stick with project management software, you may not be using the right tool. If this is you I encourage you to book a 30-minute mini-session where we will find the right project management tools for you and I’ll throw in a couple of templates to get you started.

What are the steps for your repurposing system?

  • Identity a list of blog posts to rewrite, republish, and podcast. Do this as batch work. Sit down and go through your old content and put all the links in your project management tool as future posts to rewrite, republish and podcast.
  • Based on your blog post, create an outline for the podcast script, refreshing the content to your current audience that is in alignment with your paid offers.
  • Record your podcast.
  • Edit your podcast.
  • Finalize the podcast and have it transcribed.
  • This moves us into, editing the transcript to be used as the rewritten and republished blog post. I guess the process is a podcast, rewrite and republish now that I’m thinking about my true process.
  • Publish and add the podcast to your website with the refreshed blog post.
  • I consider this two-birds-with-one-stone method. I’m making my content relevant again and sharing it on a different platform.

This same process can be used with video as well.

From Free to Paid: Repurpose Content into a Paid Offer

From Free to Paid: Repurpose Content into a Paid Offer

As an online business owner, you likely understand the importance of creating valuable free content for your audience. However, you may not be able to sustain your business long-term solely by providing free content. It's here that the art of repurposing free content into a tripwire or tiny offer comes into play. Consider converting free content, such as video series or challenges, into a tripwire or tiny offer that leads to a larger paid offer. You can maximize the value of your content by following these strategies.

Solutions Are Found In The Struggle

Isn’t crazy that the best solutions are found in the struggle? If you think about it, the solutions to your challenges can often be found when you work through them instead of giving up.

I swear, sometimes, I’ve been crowd the queen of struggle; I guess it has advantages since I’ve found many solutions. LOL.

I’ll share one of my stories with you. When I started my online business, I struggled to make a profit. While some of it had to do with a terrible case of imposter syndrome. The main issue was that I didn’t create a plan to take my potential clients from my free content to my paid services. I’d spend a ton of time creating free content on my blog and various lead magnets, but I didn't see much for a return on my investment. I had become exhausted, burnt out, and discouraged from all the content creation.

That's when I started to figure out ways to repurpose my free content. Instead of constantly creating new content, I realized I could transform my existing content into something I could sell.

You see when your free content is a proven asset to your clients, this is the time to transform it from free to a tripwire or tiny offer.

By repurposing the free content into a tiny offer, you know without a doubt that it will provide value. There is something magical about not feeling like valuable content is sitting there unused.

From Free to Paid

During a content audit with a client, It didn’t take me long to recognize she was on the road to content creation burnout.

Part of the content audit process is looking at all the free content to figure out how to reuse and repurpose it to prevent content creation burnout. Let me tell you she’s created a lot of free content over all her years as a mindset coach and online business owner.

We discovered she had a gold mind of free content that could be repurposed into a tiny offer or a tripwire. She felt discouraged and frustrated with the consent churn of free content that was one and done. She was on the struggle bus to create a steady profit with her business.

Using this strategy, we were to map out a sales funnel that took her audience from a free opt-in to a low-cost trip wire and then to her higher-priced offerings. And the best part? It required minimal additional effort on her part.

The Art of Repurposing Free Content

Let's take a look at steps you can take to convert your current free content into a profitable tripwire:

1. Identify Your Best Content: Look at your existing content and identify the pieces that resonate most with your audience. These are the pieces that you can repurpose into something more profitable.

2. Repurpose Your Content: Once you've identified your best content, repurpose it into a format suitable for a tripwire or tiny offer. For example, you could turn a popular blog post into a workbook, a video series, or a challenge into a mini-course.

3. Add Value: Add extra content, bonuses, or resources not previously included in your free content to make your tripwire or tiny offer a little more enticing.

4. Create a Sense of Urgency: A tripwire or tiny offer is designed to create a sense of urgency and encourage your audience to take action. You can achieve this by setting a deadline or limiting the number of copies available.

5. Set a Low Price: Your tripwire or tiny offer should be priced low enough to be an easy yes, but high enough to create perceived value. The price will depend on your audience, your niche, and the value that you're offering.

6. Promote Your Tripwire: Once your tripwire or tiny offer is ready, it's time to promote it. You can promote it on your website, social media channels, and email list. I tend to gravitate to organic marketing.

7. Track and Analyze Your Results: Finally, it's essential to track and analyze your results to see how well your tripwire or tiny offer is performing. Look at conversion rate, revenue generated, and customer feedback metrics, and adjust as needed.
